I noticed that some radio stations don’t show the cover image of the currently playing song (with the Shazam function turned off). I understand the idea: when Shazam is off, the cover is searched based on the song name.

Some songs are not found because of special characters. For example, this song is not found: Andra – Colț de suflet (feat. Adi Cristescu), even though it exists on both Apple Music and Spotify.

The problem seems to be with “Colț”, more precisely the letter “ț”, at least that’s what I assume. And there are many letters like this.

For example: (ș should be s), (ț should be t). There are many such characters that come from the Romanian language.

Could you please fix this?

It is not on our side. If Shazam is turned off it all depends on quality of metadata provided by the station. Some stations provide proper (recognizable) metadata, some stations don’t. And it is not about such diacritic letters. I personally listen to one Ukrainian rock radio and they provide titles in cyrylic script. Eter is not ment to translate or ment poorly provided metadata. In fact that is why we implemented Shazam, because there are stations that we like and that provide poor metadata, or don’t provide metadata at all.
