Trickster looks like it's "got" every file I'm tracking (?)

Since yesterday trickster has a huge list of files and directories. I think the only thing going on while I was away was Google Drive sync, time machine, and iDrive backup. I don’t think I’ve seen a long list of files like this before.

Is there a way to filter out touches by apps like gdrive sync?

There are no ways to exclude touches by specific apps since this information is not available to Trickster (which apps touched the file). If the files in general are of no interest to you then you can skip the locations. I haven’t seen Time Machine backups causing files to be touched on my Mac and show in Trickster.

It could also be a one-time event caused by the file system perhaps.
If there are too many files, you can just select them all and hit the delete key to remove them all from Trickster’s list (or select, right-click and choose Remove so and so files).

Hopefully, it doesn’t repeat.

I didn’t think of deleting them from trickster that way. I exclude-listed the directories that held large numbers of files I knew I hadn’t referenced. That made their entries disappear, but it’ll keep me from tracking a reference in one of those places (Rare, but maybe that makes trickster’s tricks even more valuable for them.)

I’ll shorten my exclude list and try deleting them next time.

And, thank you for the prompt - even over the weekend - response!

You’re welcome. Make sure to not watch folders that contains too much unneeded files, like ~/Library or the whole home folder or root folder.
